The concept offers a visual and culinary journey through three magnificent palaces of India and a menu featuring cuisine from four different regions in India. The storybook menu is divided into four regional cuisines found in India which have been influenced by various ingredients and flavours of a variety of countries including Greece, West and Central Asia and Persia. There are a number of shareable dishes and entrees highlighting the unique flavours of each region through Awadhi cuisine, classic Hyderabadi cuisine, Punjabi cuisine and Rajputana cuisine. The extensive menu caters to all palates and features distinct regional dishes presented on fine dishes such as copper bowls, slate boards, and copper table top grill.

Don’t you just love discovering a 32-year-old gem for the first time? Even better, isn’t it great when your better-late-than-never discovery makes you realize you’ll be back? Well Enzo’s Two Guys From Italy is that place. Not the fanciest restaurant (it still has an 80s-style enclosed smoking glass cage), the food at the long-standing Streetsville resto is on point. We had stuffed sole, ravioli, and to top it off, deep dish pizza. It’s only the second place we know that has it. The pizza was fresh, baked perfectly and the meat topping made it amazing! The dough was also super fresh.
17 Steakhouse and Bar is by far the most impressive new opening of 2015 (and there are only a few months left).Millions were spent redesigning the majestic 32,000 sq. ft. space filled with over the top features such as a gorgeous oversized fresh water aquarium filled with a colourful array of African cichlid fish that’s visible from both the main bar and one of the two private dining rooms. The menu includes a number of U.S., Ontario and Alberta prime cuts of beef, including the tenderloin, strip loin, prime T-bone, porterhouse and tomahawk. You will also find Japanese A5 wagyu and a reasonably priced American flat iron wagyu at $40 for 8 oz. Other options include oysters, ahi tuna, seared scallops, tempura shrimp, fish options, salads, duck confit, bison tenderloin, risotto, chicken, braised back ribs, charcuterie board, calamari and a seafood tower.

2 – El Jefe
One of Mississauga’s most highly anticipated restaurants has opened this week! It’s one of only three full-service Mexican restaurants in Mississauga and it’s called El Jefe, which translates to “the boss” or “the chief” in Spanish. The menu as described by Pablo as having many layers to it. For example the chicken chimichanga is “sweet, spicy and crunchy. It has a three-pepper roasted tomatillo (Mexican green tomato) that is seared off with olive oil and spices mixed with roasted garlic, roasted poblano and chipotle peppers that are pureed down to serve as the base of the dish. It is stuffed with seared chicken breast, spinach, roasted corn and cheese, deep fried and covered in a mango Pico de Gallo,” says Pablo. The menu also features table-side made guacamole and house-made flour tortillas, sauces and salsas. Pablo has incorporated three main cheeses throughout the menu, including Mexican queso fresco, Spanish manchego and American Monterey jack cheeses. The diverse, mouth-watering menu includes dishes such as ceviche, Corona-battered blooming onions, taquitos, baked empanadas, seven different tacos (chicken, fish, steak, calamari and more), burritos, carnitas, a signature beavertail taco and a classic Mexican sweet favourite – churros.

Foodie North is a new Chinese restaurant which differentiates itself from others by focusing on Northern Chinese cuisine. Chinese cuisine, like most, varies across the country and a variety of factors such as the climate and region influence the characteristics of the cuisine. Henan, Shanxi, Shandong Provinces and Beijing are some of the regions you will find in North China. Northern dishes are much heartier and heavily seasoned due to the colder climate. The staple ingredient is wheat which is used in steamed buns, dumplings, stuffed buns, pancakes and lamian (Chinese noodle). This unique technique of making lamian is a fascinating craft and unique to China. The menu, like the restaurant, is quite expansive offering everything from duck to pork, chicken to lamb, and seafood to stews and all are made in-house.
